DEVELOPMENT OF OBC AND STREAMER SIMULTANEOUS EXPLORATION AND PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY

To enhance the ability to detect of oil and gas formations, a simultaneous survey using OBC and a towed streamer was conducted around the East Sea of Korea, which has a shallow gas-bearing zone. For the simultaneous exploration, RV Tamhae II and a barge were used as a source vessel which acquired the streamer data and as a recording vessel, respectively (Fig. 1). For the processing of the obtained OBC data, we applied trace rotation and eliminated reverberations and multiples through PZ summation. The stacked Sv profile was finally derived after a Vs velocity analysis and a stacking process of Sv components (Fig. 2).
